Haruhi Hata

  • Haruhi Hata is a professor at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. Her students have earned accolades at prestigious competitions, including the International Long-Thibaud Competition in Paris and the International Piano Competition of Île de France. Since 2006, she has conducted master classes at the Conservatoire of Turin alongside Henri Barda and Anne Queffélec and frequently serves on juries of international competitions in Europe.

    A distinguished pianist, Professor Hata is renowned for her acclaimed recordings, notably the complete Preludes and Fugues by J.S. Bach. She graduated from the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, where she studied with Kazuko Yasukawa, later advancing her training in Paris under Nikita Magaloff and Yvonne Lefébure.

    Winner of the Claude Debussy International Competition in Paris, Professor Hata performs widely as a soloist and chamber musician. Her interpretations of Bach’s 48 Preludes and Fugues and complete Partitas have been praised in Paris, Turin, and other major cities. Additionally, numerous composers have dedicated works to her, which she has premiered in her recital series, “My Favourite Countries,” showcasing her extensive repertoire.
